Once this Form is submitted you will receive a Personal Details form that will need to be completed & returned before your child will be placed on our waiting list.

Those parents/guardians who are in a position to become Uniformed Leaders with a Section in the Group will be given priority in getting a place for their child/children in the relevant section (age 6 and over).

Those parents/guardians who take an active role as a Group Executive Member will be given priority place on the waiting list.

Whilst we endeavour to offer a place to every child on our list this CANNOT be guaranteed. Changes within the Group's Leadership can lead to a change in section numbers.

When a young person joins a section their parents/guardians are expected to:-

  • Show interest and support Section's activities as part of a parent rota system (when required)
  • Support the Group in fundraising, social activities and offer their skills and other help where appropriate.

Confirmation of receipt of this form will be emailed to the address provided above.

The Waiting List ...

When vacancies become available in a Section this will be filled from the waiting list taking into consideration any priorities due to parents being actively involved in the Group.

How Can You Help?

Leader and Assistant Leaders
These are Uniformed Positions with training provided. The new Training Scheme takes into account any previous experience. As part of a team you will help plan and run a programme for a specific section. These positions normally require a weekly commitment, however we accept that a lot of people are unable to now give that commitment and would ask that you consider doing this on a 1 in 4 week basis.

Section Helper
This is a non uniformed position; however a couple of Training Modules still need to be undertaken. (These modules can actually be completed using a DVD & E-Learning).

Group Executive Member
The Group Executive Committee exists to support the Group Scout Leader and usually meets in the evenings bi-monthly. The committee is responsible for:

  • The maintenance of the Group property and equipment
  • The raising of funds and administration of the Groups finances
  • The insurance of persons, property and equipment
  • Group public occasions
  • Assisting with the recruitment of Leaders and other adult support
